Welcome!

Welcome to my journey; the messy, whirlwind, unsettling, loving, trying, exhilarating, devastating, soul crushing and soul expanding journey that I want to share with you. Maybe something from my life you can relate to, or maybe not, maybe I just give you a laugh, a cry or a “I’m so glad that I am not her.” I am recording this season of my life, healing from a chronic disease, medication injury, Trauma with a capital “T,” felony conviction, suicide attempted, Complex PTSD, and finally, discovering who this person is that is inside me that God/Creator/Universe/Genie in the Sky wanted here.

The title of my blog is “Fifty Steps In, Fifty Steps Out…” The reason for this title comes from an old saying that I heard years ago, “It took you fifty steps to go into the woods and it will take you fifty steps to get out of those woods.” For me, this has stuck with me and resonated deep within especially when going through healing from a disease. Nothing happened over night to me and no matter how badly I want to rush the process, it is still 50 steps out.

My prayer/wish/thought for you is that you have peace, joy, happiness in your life that surpasses all understanding and maybe pick a few “ah-ha’s” from my journey.

About

Daughter, Sister, Mother, Wife, Student, Nurse, Pharma Rep, Business Owner, Disabled, FELON…WHAT? Wait…that last label was so not what I ever wanted to have stuck to my descriptors of me. All the labels we place on ourselves group us, define us (if we let them), separate us, and sometimes harm us.

But for this page purpose, I am an early 40’s woman that is a mother, daughter, sister, friend, business owner, overcomer, survivor, nurse, and child of the most high God/Creator/Universe/Genie in the Sky.
